alpine24seven recommends that you never wire funds via Western Union, Money Gram or any other wire service. Conduct transaction locally with people you can meet in person and assess. Exercise critical judgment. Scammers will send you fake cashier checks and money orders. Unfortunately banks will cash them and hold you accountable later after the fake is discovered weeks or months later. alpine24seven recommends that you avoid transactions involving shipping and/or escrow services.

Take your time
|

Take your time to get to know the person online first. Let the relationship develop and mature online until you are comfortable with each other. Do not give out personal information online. Never share online personal information that would let someone find you offline, as your name, your workplace, your address (unless you are doing business at home), your phone number etc.

Start with a phone call
|
|
You should always start with a phone call before you meet offline in person. alpine24seven recommends that you use a public phone. Schedule your meeting in a public place and go with a friend. The first time you meet in person, take a friend with you. Meet in a mall, or fast food restaurant.

Tell a friend
|
|
Make sure someone knows whom you are meeting, where you are going and when you are coming back. (Someone other than the person you take with you.) Never leave or go home with the person you are meeting. You can extend the meeting to dinner or anything else in a public place.

Account Security

Do not share with anyone your personal financial information, account passwords, username, etc. Ensure that you have a reputable virus-detection installed and properly configured on your computer, and that it is updated regularly. Do not buy illegal goods online. alpine24seven encourages you to flag suspicious or illegal Ads.

|

Do not hesitate to report to the Police if something goes wrong.
